Since Summit's inception in 1978, surveying has been one of the mainstays of the business. Professional land surveyors with licenses in Nevada, California, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado are currently employed by the company. Summit also boasts multiple Nevada Water Right Surveyors and Certified Federal Surveyors (CFedS). In 30-plus years, our staff has completed more than 1,000 Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Subdivision Maps, and Division of Large Parcel Maps for a wide variety of agencies on public, private, and tribal lands.
Summit Engineering's surveying team's combination of education and practical experience results in a staff that is diverse and better able to address the multi-disciplined nature of surveying. Our crews are currently using both conventional and GPS (RTK and Static) equipment in innovative ways to help optimize the task of survey data collection as well as project layout. Summit performs all land surveying tasks in house, enabling us to maintain tighter control of the project with respect to quality and time schedules. Our survey crews have experience and expertise in all aspects of construction, mining, ALTA, boundary, photogrammetric, cadastral, and control surveys and the majority of the field personnel hold certifications as land surveyor interns.
Our senior professional staff maintains quality control by using sufficient redundancy in survey measurements along with verification of existing field conditions. Use of an extensive Autolisp library developed by our staff automates routine tasks and eliminates repetition while reducing the potential for errors due to hand-entry of data. Our professional survey staff collaborates on the majority of our projects and provides additional quality control through constant review of survey workflow.
Summit has found a blend of conventional survey and technologically advanced equipment yields the best results. Office surveying, tasked with either digesting raw topographical survey data or land mapping, is performed with the latest in computer aided design (CAD) software bolstered by specialized, proprietary programs and add-ins created by Summit employees. This customized software greatly enhances the inherent utility of commercially available CAD programs and increases both the efficiency and accuracy of work performed. Summit's dedication to the responsible implementation of technological advances in the field of surveying and related support systems serves to assure our teams define cutting-edge surveying services.
