Brief

Summit Engineering was chosen for the Boys and Girls Club of America projects due to the close working relationship established between the two organizations. Summit donated the initial design and planning to support fundraising for this capital project. Having had staff serve on the board of directors and with involvement in many organization fundraisers, Summit was able to see the needs of the club and the community with clarity. This enabled open conversations to assist with adjustments needed during the planning and construction process. Sponsors provided additional funding to add extra features, such as a mini golf course benefitting the entire community. The Summit team quickly made those changes to keep the projects on time. Summit has been involved with the new construction of the Boys and Girls Club in Elko, Spring Creek, Wells, Winnemucca, and Mason Valley Nevada. The most recent projects include the Spring Creek Club and the Elko Events & Rec Center.

Solutions

Being a local full-service team, the Boys and Girls Club and the Summit design team were able to utilize face-to-face meetings at a moment’s notice, or even meet when running into each other in the community. With Summit and the Boys & Girls Club teams working together the reach allowed big dreams and provided much-needed services at an accelerated pace for Elko County.

Spring Creek’s location is unique, hosting a full-service daycare/learning center (Ages 0-5), fitness center, outdoor adventure area, and concession area.

Nevada Gold Mines was a major contributor, as they saw the need for daycare in this community. They also helped support the addition of a daycare/learning center at the Elko location as well. Both locations provide a much-needed service to the community, along with a safe place for children to enjoy activity and care while parents are working; 400 children are able to attend.
