Brief

Summit Engineering design services provided for the RTC 2014 Corrective Maintenance project included civil plans and solicitation documents.

The scope of the civil design included roadway rehabilitation of seven streets throughout Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County, striping, and ADA-accessible ramps to match existing improvements. The solicitation documents included contract documents, special technical specifications, and bid item clarifications. The special technical specifications provided construction procedures and specifications for the roadway rehabilitation required for each street indicated on the plans. The rehabilitation procedures used for this project included Cold In-Place Recycling, chip seal, slurry seal, scrub seal, and asphalt overlay.

Scope

Summit also provided field testing services for the RTC 2014 Corrective Maintenance Project including: subgrade and base inspection beneath hardscapes; concrete air voids, slump, and compression; asphalt concrete overlay roll pattern, density, and thickness verification; cold in-place asphalt roll pattern, density and thickness verification; verification of aggregate gradation of chips used for chip seal; verification of aggregate gradation of cold in-place recycled material; observation of the protection of existing utilities; verification of placement of pavement markings; and verification that materials used on-site met material and mix design requirements specified in the solicitation documents.
